Thousands of lesser flamingos choose the intensely alkaline waters of the lake for their breeding ground thanks to the rich food supply, which is the algea that grow in such extreme conditions. There is a natural pool in the stream which is perfect for a cooling dip. The camp has a central mess tent with a dining room and a bar, and relaxation space inside and out. The tents have big beds, en-suite bathrooms with a shower, running water, and a flushable composting loo. Lake Natron Camp has ten tents, with shade-cloth covers offering shade from the sun and protection from the wind. The camp is near the shore of the remote and extraordinary Lake Natron in northern Tanzania. Lake Natron Camp has a wonderful setting beside a stream in the Great Rift Valley.
